Teacher Standards

The foundation for top-quality teaching

Wesley Academy believes that the quality of education begins with the quality of the teacher’s team. A good curriculum is only truly valuable when delivered by teachers who are good at their subject matter, have solid methods, and are full of enthusiasm.

Therefore, Wesley Academy has set strict standards for selecting and training teachers, considering this the core to guarantee the quality of teaching and the progress of students. The teacher’s team is not simply people in the classroom, but is educational experts who are selected, trained, and continuously evaluated to achieve the highest standards.

  1. Strict selection process

To become a teacher at Wesley Academy, candidates must go through a rigorous and multi-round recruitment process. This is to ensure that each teacher has the full range of professional competence, pedagogical qualities and the ability to teach in English according to the international curriculum with the following requirements:

  • Graduated from pedagogy or related fields of education, languages, Mathematics and Science or a suitable major.
  • Have a prestigious teaching certificate or international degree in education.
  • Possess a foreign language certificate that ensures the ability to teach in English.
  • If an international student, the candidate must have studied international programs and demonstrate an understanding of the international academic environment.

Wesley Academy does not compromise on input quality because it is always looking for teachers with a solid academic foundation, professional style and modern thinking.

  1. Assessment of teaching capacity through many rounds

After passing the application and interview rounds, candidates must go through many different testing stages to assess their actual teaching capacity.

2.1. Mandatory teaching demo

Candidates must conduct a teaching demo under the supervision of the academic department. Through this demo, the center evaluates:

  • Lesson implementation
  • Teaching methods
  • Ability to convey knowledge in English
  • Ability to interact and manage the classroom
  • How to handle situations and answer students’ questions

Only candidates who demonstrate excellent pedagogical skills, while maintaining enthusiasm and initiative in the classroom will continue.

2.2. Observing and observing real classrooms

Even teachers with many years of experience are not allowed to teach classes immediately, candidates must participate in:

  • Observing classes in progress
  • Observing veteran teachers teaching
  • Discussing with the academic department about the center’s teaching methods

This process helps ensure that all new teachers are familiar with the center’s lesson structure, teaching style and standards before officially teaching.

  1. Continuously improve teacher capacity

At Wesley Academy, teachers are not just “accepted” and then “classed” because the center applies a systematic, continuous and innovative training system, lasting from the probationary period to the entire teaching process.

3.1. Entrepreneurship training

Before teaching, teachers are required to participate in a training course including:

  • The center’s curriculum and syllabus
  • Teaching methods for Math and Science in English
  • Classroom management techniques in 1-on-1 and small group models
  • How to assess student capacity and build a personalized roadmap

3.2. Regular professional training

Every week, teachers participate in the following activities:

  • Internal workshops
  • Seminars on new teaching methods
  • Subject-specific research sessions
  • Assessment of teaching effectiveness based on student results
  • Cross-observation between teachers to learn from each other

3.3. Closely follow the career path of each teacher

Each teacher is monitored by the academic department:

  • Progress
  • Strengths
  • Points to improve
  • Level of meeting international standards

Thereby, Wesley Academy ensures that the teacher’s team is always updated and upgraded continuously, constantly developing skills and teaching quality.

  1. Teacher classification system ensures transparent quality

At Wesley Academy, teachers are clearly classified based on many factors, especially:

  • Number of years of practical teaching experience
  • Expertise and academic qualifications
  • Ability to teach entirely in English or bilingual English – Vietnamese
  • Student learning outcomes and feedback
  • Level of participation in professional activities

The center applies 2 main subgroups:

  • Teaching in English: For teachers who are able to use academic English naturally and fluently, meeting the standards to teach the entire international program.
  • English – Vietnamese bilingual: Suitable for students who need additional support in Vietnamese at an early stage, before moving on to a fully English class.

The system helps parents understand the teacher’s abilities and ensures that students are always placed with the right person, at the right level and according to their needs.

  1. Teacher quality makes the core value

Wesley Academy believes that no curriculum is as good as a good teacher, so:

  • Teachers are the center of quality
  • Students are the center of every decision
  • Teaching methods are the bridge between knowledge and success

Maintaining the highest standards for the teacher’s team is the guiding principle to build a truly trustworthy, sustainable and effective educational environment. With a strict recruitment process, intensive training and a transparent evaluation system, Wesley Academy is proud to have a team of qualified teachers. Each teacher is not only a teacher, but also an inspirational companion who contributes to the progress of each student.
